movie. an army vet paralyzed from the heft chest down is receiving treatment. he has been married less than two years and his wife accidentally left her ring at a nail salon. we spoke would the couple and find the rest of this incredible story. >> reporter: it is. what i saw tonight was an amazing commitment of a wife to her husband whose life will never be the same and a nail tech who was determined to track them down when the sentimental part of their vows was missing. >> i just told myself i was not going to go out like that. >> reporter: jamie is determined to survive. in fact determination surrounding him. its been a long trip to the battle field in afghanistan several medical facilities and now johns hopkins. >> i was shot by an ak-47 in the left side of my throat. >> reporter: he is paralyzed from the chest down.

just 27, he has gone through 90 surgeries since april 10th. he calls his wife his rock. >> 27 is to young to go out like that. i have a beautiful wife, beautiful family, that comes first. >> reporter: on thursday melissa took a break from the hospital and went to get a manicure. they had seen her four times, just enough to put together the story. >> i didn't tell her much as much as i was always on the phone and she overheard. >> reporter: she noticed her two caret wedding rings hours after she left, she knew they were missing but she didn't know where she put them. >> we wrote it off and said whoever finds it are lucky and we hope it brings them good luck because we had good luck. >> reporter: meantime the tech was on a two and a half hour

house. the school held a moment of silence and the cheerleaders brought flowers to the game. >> she was just a sweet girl, never had any problems with anybody. >> we picked the flowers as sympathies and -- even though we didn't know her we all knew what it feels like to loose someone. >> and the police say speed and wet roads were probably factors. police are still looking for 11-year-old william but tonight we know a little more about his mother's death. she was found dead in her condo wednesday and when police realized the son was missing they issued an amber alert. they have been looking for him. tonight jane was stabbed and suffered blunt force trauma a. yesterday her car was found in north carolina along with this man. her estranged husband who was arrested for her murder. police hope to find william with his stepfather but there was no sign of him.

the prisoner who escaped from city police yesterday is back in jail. he was arrested yesterday for armed robbery. he escaped yesterday while officers were moving him to a different district. police haven't said where or how he was caught or what charges he will face. update to a story we first brought you last night. police believe that a shooting in a downtown parking garage was random. it happened last night inside a garage in the campus of the university of maryland medical center. as we told you yesterday the 45- year-old was leaving the hospital after meeting his doctor about a previous stabbing injury when he was shot several times. investigators are reviewing cameras but have few leads. the victim is still in the hospital and his condition is improving. investigators have found a second tainted letter in the mail room at the hartford county detention center, this after an employee got sick after being exposed to the unknown substance. though police are still testing

it authorities say the employee's symptoms could point to a drug that is used by heroin addicts. they are trying to find the source. >> its part of an ongoing investigation but we have means to be able to determine where the mail was coming from and where it was going. >> the state's prisons have had a problem because until now urine tests didn't pick it up but a spokesman said they now have tests that will detect it. since the letter came in the united states mail the feds could get involved. and this is the man hartford police have been looking for for about a week. he was caught in north carolina this morning. he was wanted in connection with the double shooting on october 4th. police say he may have shot the two men because he thought he robbed him earlier this day. >> skies have cleared off nicely this evening in the wake of showers and thunderstorms we had earlier today.

now all clear and setting the stage for a great blue sky kind of weekend. only weather problem for us will be the wind. it's still breezy, winds ten to 15, gusting to 20. they could gust to 30 tomorrow. overnight though, nice clear skies, breezy, cooler conditions in to the upper 40s. we will see a nice warm up in to the 60's tomorrow. more on the forecast just minutes away. >> now as wyatt said it'll be a clear morning for the baltimore running festival. the city is expecting 25,000 people to lace up their running shoes. the marathon kicks off promptly at 8:00 a.m. runners will participate in other smaller races throughout the morning including the half marathon, team relay and the 5k. a 65-year-old sid bush is a veteran having run more than a hundred races. he dedicates each run to a fallen military member. >> it's very emotional thing. it's worth it.

for a slow warm up but still breezy weather through the rest of the day. across the area, skies generally clear. couple of stray showers west of us. the bottom line is the big ugly weather maker pushing north and east and clearing out the sky and big front now off shore. windy, dry weather continuing to funnel in. kind of a chapstick situation if you will. breezy and very dry over the next two days. as we look at the trend most of the weather will stay well north of us, like toward new york state. a few high thin clouds offer the weekend and sunday will be less windy. all the tailgaters, getting back into action after the weekend off. partly cloudy and breezy sunday but not the kind of gusty winds i think we will face for the mare ton day tomorrow. overnight 49, clearing skies, the two degree guarantee tomorrow. mostly sunny, windy, could see gusts to 30 and tomorrow night this clear and chilly but still kind of breezy.

. okay. what do you do to top this? a skydiving teach eve and a female friend won't face charms after they had sex while jumping tandem from a plane. it happened in bakersfield california though we can't show you the naughty bit. a teacher and sometimes foreign actor had sex at the skydive school while in the plane and then tandem jumped kept going. the video went viral and police investigated but the bakersfield police said nobody who witnessed it complained no charges will be filed. isn't it against the law to do it in a plane or fall out of a
